Béziers Cap d'Agde Mediterranée Airport

The Béziers Cap d'Agde Méditerranée Airport continued its dynamic growth in 2009. In terms of traffic, the hub thus increased its volume by 18.5%, in spite of the closure of the PSO Béziers/Paris service by Airlinair last February.  In the low-cost sector alone, the airport almost doubled the number of passengers it dealt with, going from 47,000 in 2008 to 87,000 in 2009, that is an increase of 85%.

In 2009 airport traffic will end up reaching 91,000 passengers, when all services are included. Key factors in achieving this outcome were the opening of a third Ryanair service between Béziers and Düsseldorf Weeze, which is now provided throughout the year, and the further development of the two services between Béziers and London Luton and Béziers and Bristol, which were also kept going this winter, despite a difficult economic situation in the UK.
This winter, the airport will create a second departure lounge and enlarge its security control area to cope with the new passenger volume. Another service, the fourth one, is expected in spring 2010.
