President of the Béziers Saint-Pons Chamber of Commerce, Daniel Galy, and Flybe's Director of Development, Ian Taylor, signed a 3 years partnership agreement at a press conference in November at Béziers Cap d’Agde airport, in the presence of local government representatives.

The flights will operate on Mondays and Fridays from 27 May to 10 September 2011 and tickets are on sale now on the Flybe website, www.flybe.com, starting from € 45 one-way including taxes and charges.

Seven connecting destinations will also be available via Southampton International Airport: Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle, Jersey and Guernsey.

Mike Rutter, the company's Sales Director, said: “We are happy to announce this new connection between Southampton and the South of France, which supplements our network of 10 destinations in the French regions. With Béziers Cap d’Agde, Pau and Clermont-Ferrand - also being launched for the next summer schedule - we will position Southampton as the main port of entry for the south of England and consolidate the tourist traffic between the two countries. We eagerly await the installation of these new routes and advise those who plan to use these services to book in advance in order to benefit from the lowest prices”.

Daniel Galy added: “The arrival of a new operator is an important development for all the airport's partners, consolidating our special position in the low-cost market. The arrival of Flybe will also further diversify our range of destinations, complementing Ryanair's 5 connections. It is a decisive step for the airport, for jobs and the economic benefits it will generate for our tourism industry.”
